In 1990, after many successful years in film and television, Maura Fay set up the The Maura Fay Group. Maura Fay was well known in the Australian entertainment industry as an entrepreneur, a visionary and as having the ability to make those around her relax, laugh and focus – qualities we still strongly believe in today. Maura identified a correlation between the skills an actor uses to create connection and engage an audience with the skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly competitive corporate world. Being the entrepreneur that she was she created an organisation dedicated to developing people in being able to engage, connect, grow and inspire change.
These values are not only ones that are relevant in industry today, but are also what we still believe in. What started as a presentations skills training organisation, soon became a communication skills organisation dealing with management, leadership, coaching, mentoring and the list goes on. In 2001, Maura Fay was named one of the 25 most influential people in film and television in Australia; sadly this was also the year she passed away.
The Maura Fay Group team are committed to honour her both in the world of casting and to extend her vision to inspire and develop people and organisations through learning and development across the globe. In continuing Maura’s vision, we are constantly exploring new ways to help people and organisations develop, and researching what is required to help our clients grow.
