What was the situation?
In the highly competitive world of business consulting it is vital for a company to stay at the top of their game in order to remain competitive. This organisation wanted to develop their leaders internally as they are aware the availability of talented leaders is a growing issue all around the world. Their aim was to cultivate creative leaders to increase their competitive advantage and business growth - in particular those in the mid to upper management positions in both client facing and non-client facing positions.
Every year during January when business is a little quieter the company offers a summer school training week, where these leaders are offered both hard and soft skill development.
We originally became involved with the company in 2005 offering Presentation Skills training.
How did The Maura Fay Group contribute?
Whilst the relationship originally started in 2005 with presentation skills training, we are now one of only two externals providers of learning and development solutions during the summer school week, offering up to 25 programs every year.

We work in close partnership with the company to develop new solutions each year based not only on the changing needs of the company but the changes in the market they operate in and the changes we witness in the learning and development industry. There is now a strong level of trust between us, so we are able to push the boat out and try new things that challenge both the participants and the company.
After consultation with a number of partners we were selected based on our experience and expertise in learning and development, our highly experiential training methodology, focus on deliverable outcomes, our understanding of their needs and the ability to tailor the programs accordingly.
What were the results?
Since beginning work with us the company has seen their leadership and manager retention rates improve. During the GFC where many companies were losing team members they managed to hold on to the majority of their key leaders. Due to the investment the company had put into them, they felt a sense of loyalty.
As they have senior team members flying in from all over the world to attend this training they need to be sure their learning partner are delivering excellence. The company has been continually impressed with the high quality of the training and the outcomes achieved by The Maura Fay Group over the strong five year relationship. They know that we will listen to their requirements and design an appropriate solution that will meet their needs as well as challenging their team members.
We are a well known training provider within the company and the learners are always excited in what new programs will be offered each year.
Moving forward...
The summer school program continues to be a highly successful suite of programs with people requesting to attend our training sessions year after year to learn new skills in a fun and experiential way.
Based on the success of the summer school program we also offer quarterly ‘Present to influence’ programs regionally around the east coast of Australia, as well as offering several of the training programs in their Asian offices.
We have now also been appointed the company’s primary communications skills provider.
